On September 4, the Preparatory Meeting for 2023 Academic Seminar on Cross-Straits Applied (Technical and Vocational) Higher Education was held online. The leaders and representatives from Beijing Union University, Shanghai Polytechnic University, Chaoyang University of Technology, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, and other related organizations attended the meeting to discuss matters in connection with the opening of this seminar. Li Yue, Vice President of SZPT, Yang Congkun, Deputy Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, and Feng Xing, Officer of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Projects, attended the preparatory meeting online at Mingde Building, Liuxiandong Campus.

Ge Zixiang, President of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, as the organizer of this seminar, first welcomed the representatives of the universities attending the preparatory meeting. He said that the Academic Seminar on Cross-Straits Applied (Technical and Vocational) Higher Education has been held for 23 sessions so far,known as the leading academic exchange event in the cross-strait higher vocational education circles, which is of great significance to the cross-strait vocational education circles. Over the past few years, due to the impact of COVID-19, the seminar was forced to be held online, and there was no opportunity for face-to-face communication. This year, as the epidemic slowed down, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology sincerely invited representatives of various universities to Taiwan, and made this seminar a unique, innovative and fruitful event.

Subsequently, Yin Xieqi, Director of the Cross-Strait Exchange Center of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, made a detailed introduction and explanation on the theme and topics, meeting time, schedule, attendees and other aspects of this seminar, which was unanimously agreed by the representatives. During the discussion, SZPT proposed to use a new flag according to the development situation of the universities, which was approved by all attendees at the meeting.
