Shenzhen Polytechnic University Holds 2025 Middle Management Cadre Reading Class

The reading class was held in the Meeting Room 1, Tongde Building.

To further strengthen the development of the school’s middle management cadre team, deepen the study and implementation of President Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as the Party and State’s education policies and higher education management theories and practices, and to promote the smooth and orderly progress of the school’s vocational undergraduate phase, the 2025 Middle Management Cadre Reading Class was held on January 8-9, 2025, in Meeting Room 1, Tongde Building, Liuxiandong Campus. School leaders and middle management cadres participated in the class.

The first morning of the class on January 8 was dedicated to special-topic learning and also served as an expanded session of the Party Committee’s theoretical study group. Vice President Zhang Zuotai led the first session on the“Outline for the Construction of a Strong Education Nation”. He analyzed its general requirements, overall planning, and key tasks in detail, providing the cadres with a clear outline of the macro development path for vocational education and offering scientific guidance and actionable directions for implementing the tasks of building a strong education nation.

Following this, Party Committee Vice Secretary Wang Hui provided an interpretation of the“Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Strengthening the Construction of a High-Quality and Professional Teacher Team in the New Era”. She began with an important discussion by General Secretary Xi Jinping on teacher team development, delving into the core connotations, value orientations, key tasks, and implementation paths of the opinions. She emphasized the importance of promoting the spirit of educators in building a new generation of skilled teachers, offering direction for teacher team construction.

Party Committee Vice Secretary and President Xu Jianling then provided a summary of the school’s work in 2024. He noted that the school achieved fruitful results in many areas in 2024, including Party building and ideological work, overall strength, major projects, talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, faculty development, social services, infrastructure, and international cooperation. These achievements were the result of the hard work of all faculty and students. Looking ahead to 2025, he encouraged the faculty and students to continue to strive forward, address gaps in areas of weakness, strive for excellence in areas of strength, and achieve breakthroughs in exploratory fields.

Party Committee Secretary Yang Xinbin then presented the work deployment for 2025. He emphasized that, at this key moment in vocational education reform and development, the school must take Party building as its guiding force, uphold the fundamental task of moral education, focus on the “Strong Teacher Project”, and concentrate on building “ideological guidance, talent competitiveness, technological support, social welfare, social cooperation, and international influence”. He outlined strategies to advance the school’s key tasks for the year, including goal-oriented, systems thinking, and problem-driven approaches. He stressed the importance of building a vocational undergraduate education standard system and accumulating “SZPU experience” for the high-quality development of vocational undergraduate education. He expressed the hope that middle management cadres would use the reading class to deeply understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directives, accurately assess the current situation and tasks, fully grasp the school’s work arrangements, refine departmental objectives and strategies, identify developmental bottlenecks, and unite all faculty and students to work together toward progress.

The reading class featured five main components: special-topic learning, independent departmental discussions, presentations by functional departments, presentations by teaching units on construction topics, and comments and summaries by the school leaders. On January 9, 8 functional departments and 20 teaching units gave presentations on their annual work goals and main initiatives, actively contributing ideas and suggestions for promoting the school’s high-quality development.
