On April 27, Shenzhen Polytechnic University launched its Youth Teacher Teaching Workshop with an opening ceremony and seminar on classroom teaching enhancement, held in the lecture hall of the Guanlongshan Area, Xili Campus. The initiative supports the university’s Strong Teacher Project and implements the 2025–2035 Young Teacher Development Measures, aiming to strengthen teaching competencies and foster high-impact classrooms. Attendees included Party Committee Secretary Yang Xinbin, Deputy Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary He Li, Party Committee Member and Vice President Zhang Zuotai, teaching vice deans from various academic units, relevant personnel from the Personnel Department, Academic Affairs Office, and Quality Assurance Center, as well as young full-time teachers and counselor representatives. Vice President Zhang Zuotai hosted the event.
Chen Dongni, Director of the Personnel Department, presented the Teaching Workshop Work Plan, outlining a closed-loop training system integrating theory, practice, reflection, and improvement. Through modular training, practical exercises, and mentorship, the workshop will guide new teachers toward becoming skilled educators, enabling them to excel in the classroom.
Party Committee Secretary Professor Yang Xinbin delivered a keynote address titled “Focusing on the Core of Classroom Teaching: Strengthening Educators through High-Impact Classrooms.” Drawing on his extensive educational leadership experience, he analyzed common challenges young teachers face and outlined the goals of high-impact classrooms, covering their importance, components, and implementation strategies. He announced plans to support young teachers through initiatives such as developing model classrooms, showcasing classroom transformation case studies, hosting teaching competency competitions, offering targeted training programs, and advancing academic research on teaching methods. These efforts aim to prioritize theoretical research, practical innovation, teacher development, and pedagogical reform, ultimately enhancing educators’ ability to teach and inspire.
During the interactive session, young teachers actively engaged with workshop leaders, discussing implementation details and innovative teaching approaches. The leaders thoughtfully responded, encouraging participants to join the Teaching Workshop and refine their skills through hands-on exploration.
The successful launch of the Teaching Workshop marks a significant milestone in Shenzhen Polytechnic’s teacher development efforts. The program is poised to become a catalyst for young educators’ growth, injecting new vitality into the university’s educational mission.
