From April 24 to 27, the Fourth Guangdong Provincial Vocational Skills Competition’s National Integrated Circuit Engineering Technology Competition, hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, supported by the Guangdong Provincial Mechanical Engineering Society (Guangdong Intelligent Robot Research Institute), and organized by Shenzhen Polytechnic University, was successfully held at the Xili Lake Campus’s Rixin Building. After intense competition, Huang Qinjin and Chen Xiaodan, instructors from the Integrated Circuit Technology program, excelled among numerous participants with their strong professional skills and outstanding capabilities, securing first place with exceptional performance.
The competition was divided into four key components: analog IC design and simulation, digital IC design and simulation, IC testing, and professional competencies. Conducted in a team format (two members per team), participants tackled the tasks through collaborative task division. Judges evaluated contestants’ proficiency with EDA tools and instruments, as well as their adherence to safe and professional operational standards during the hands-on process. Competitors were required to use independently developed domestic EDA tools, including Jinguang Verilog, Jinguang SPICE, and Jinguang Layout, to complete circuit design, layout implementation, and simulation verification. Additionally, using a competition-specific IC testing suite on the integrated circuit engineering technology platform, participants conducted tests on specific integrated circuits and developed IC characteristic test sequences within the allotted time.
