The symposium was held in Conference Room 101, Mingde Building.

From August 23 to 24, the final contest of the Intelligent Equipment Application Track of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition was held in Zhejiang. Our team from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering—students Dong Zhen, Liu Zhenhui, Yang Xiongzhi, and Xiao Yao, guided by teachers Li Liangtian and Wen Shuangquan—delivered an excellent performance and won the gold medal in this track with the highest score of the competition.

Our team addressed real industry challenges such as difficulties in production-line data traceability and low efficiency in process adjustments. Centering on the practical needs of intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, they independently designed a digital and intelligent upgrading plan for the production line. This effectively resolved pressing industrial issues and fully demonstrated their strong technical expertise and innovative capabilities. The project team of teachers and students independently completed the entire process of solution design, modification, testing, application, and optimization. When faced with recurring technical challenges, they persevered under pressure, repeatedly debugging and overcoming obstacles one by one; for each required function, they rose to the challenge, continuously verifying and successfully implementing them. Under tight schedules, heavy workloads, and high levels of difficulty, the team completed a production-line upgrading project with tangible potential for broader industrial application at relatively low cost. This achievement reflects the solid accumulation and release of students’ technical competencies over time, and also serves as a vivid demonstration of our university’s efforts in deepening school-enterprise collaboration and advancing industry-education integration.

The World Vocational College Skills Competition, led by the Ministry of Education, is the highest-level and largest-scale international comprehensive skills competition for vocational institutions. This year’s competition featured 42 tracks. The “Intelligent Equipment Application” track, formed by integrating several traditional automation-related contests, focused on trends in advanced manufacturing and smart technologies, closely aligning with the core technological needs of general equipment manufacturing and the instrumentation industry. The contest attracted 201 teams from across the country, divided into 20 parallel groups. Our team won the gold medal with the highest overall score, achieving first place across all groups.
