The Institute of New Energy Vehicle Technology is located at the foot of Tanglang Mountain, adjacent to Xili Lake. It enjoys beautiful surroundings and convenient transportation, with a strong atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is about 35 minutes' drive from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Shekou Port, and Dachan Bay Port, 20 minutes' drive from Shenzhen North Railway Station, and 600 meters from the platform of Shenzhen Metro Line 7.
The Institute is a world-class vocational and technical research institute jointly built by China's renowned enterprises and colleges and universities in China. The first phase covers an area of about 1,000 m2, including 800 m2for laboratories and 200 m2for offices. The Institute has developed partnerships with Beihang University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conservation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Tianjin University, Sun Yat-sen University, University of Science and Technology of China, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China University of Petroleum-Beijing, Southern University of Science and Technology, Ningbo University, Guangzhou Jiaotong University, Changchun Normal University, AVIC Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou GRG Metrology & Test Co., Ltd., BYD, and Shenzhen Academy of Metrology & Quality Inspection. It also signed an agreement with Changchun Normal University on the joint training of master's students in September 2021. Four teachers of the Institute are now serving as master's supervisors at Changchun Normal University.
The Institute employs Prof. Wang Jun, a doctoral supervisor at Beihang University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as Honorary Professor and Advisor of the Institute, and Prof. Ju Dongying, an academician of the Engineering Academy of Japan, as Adjunct Professor. It also maintains close cooperation with Prof. Yuan Jinliang's team from Ningbo University and the team from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Integration Technology affiliated to the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, CAS, to share experimental platforms and resources.
The Institute consists of four sub-institutes and one laboratory, namely the Hydrogen Power Research Institute, the Smart IoT Research Institute, the Electromagnetic Efficiency Research Institute, the Safe Emission Research Institute, and the Electronics Identification and Evaluation Laboratory. The research is focused on fuel cells, hydrogen energy storage, unmanned driving, energy management, ergonomics, electromagnetic health, new energy safety, intelligent environmental control, fault diagnosis and big data processing, and economical emissions.
