Faculties

The predecessor of the School was Shenzhen Health School, founded in 1981 (it was merged into the Shenzhen Polytechnic University in 2004), which can be traced back to the Bao'an County Health School founded in 1973, with a history of over 40 years. Relying on the industrial development of the Bay Area, adhering to the spirit of reform and innovation of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the School has been committed to the reform of education and teaching, taking the moral education as the fundamental task, and has achieved significant development in all its work.

The School sets up seven specialized courses, namely (provincial demonstration specialized courses, provincial key specialized courses, and provincial high-level specialized courses under construction), rehabilitation technology, stomatology, stomatology technology, ophthalmology & optometry technology, midwifery, smart health care services, and management, and has institutions including basic medical teaching and research office, infirmary, which undertake public services such as healthcare and health education in school. The School currently has 1,594 students and 100 faculty members, including 4 professors, 24 associate professors, one was awarded Guangdong Provincial Leading Talent, one was awarded the Labor Medal of Guangdong Province, and one was awarded the School-level "President Quality Award". The school has successively won the titles of the provincial Founding Unit of "Women's Civilization Station" and the municipal Advanced Education Unit.

Located in the Guanlongshan campus, the School has a beautiful environment and covers an area of 100,000 square meters, with a total construction area of nearly 28,000 square meters. It has an independent teaching building, library, training building, canteen, student apartment, lecture hall, and sports field. The School has more than 70 internship bases in provincial and municipal hospitals and medical enterprises, and one internship base for Xinjiang students in Kashgar, Xinjiang; it has actively promoted the innovation of modern apprenticeship and 1 + X talent training mode, built 3 modern apprenticeship teaching bases in Shenzhen Children's Hospital, Bao'an District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Shenzhen Jiahong Denture Technology Development Co., Ltd., and jointly established the School of Shenzhen Polytechnic University and C-Mer Ophthalmology and Optometry with Hong Kong C-Mer International Eye Care Group to build a platform for practical teaching and lay a solid foundation for students' high-quality internship employment.

The School offers one national high-quality course, two national resource database courses, two provincial high-quality resource-sharing courses, multiple MOOC courses, SPOC courses, courses integrated with certificates, VR/AR textbooks, and loose-leaf textbooks. The School has won many honors, including one second prize of National Teaching Achievements, two first prizes of provincial Teaching Achievements, two first prizes and one second prize and one third prize of PMPHMOOC Competition, second prize of the national and provincial Teaching Informatization Competition, first prize (first place) of provincial Chinese Nursing Association Teaching Competition and second prize of National Chinese Nursing Association Teaching Competition, second prize of Teaching Ability Competition of National Skills Competition, second prize and third prize of provincial Skills Competition, and the first prize of provincial Teaching Ability Competition of Young Teachers (4 people). The employment rate of the School's graduates has reached over 98%. Students have achieved excellent results in various national and provincial competitions such as the aid competition of higher vocational colleges, optometry and optician skills competitions, oral skills competitions, nursing skills competitions. Student teams have participated in the 7th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2021 and won the gold medals of Guangdong Provincial competitions and national competitions.
