The School of Management is committed to training innovative inter-disciplinary professionals with high quality and skill levels to facilitate the economic and social development in Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and aims to develop talents with strong innovation and entrepreneurial spirit and modern service consciousness, who are competent for front-line production and service management positions. Currently, the School has over 2,500 full-time students from three different major groups, namely Port & Shipping Logistics, Business Administration and Hotel Tourism, covering eight majors, including Port and Shipping Management (national demonstration major, provincial first-class brand major), Modern Logistics Management (provincial demonstration major, provincial second-class brand major), Modern Logistics Management (China-US cooperation), Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Marketing (provincial demonstration major, provincial second-class brand major), Hotel Management and Digital Operation (provincial demonstration major, provincial key major in first-class colleges and universities) and Tourism Management (national demonstration site of tourism majors in vocational colleges, provincial key major).
The School now has 110 faculty members, including 15 with senior titles, 38 with deputy senior titles, and 50 with a doctorate. There is also one famous teacher under the Guangdong Special Support Program, one teacher rated as Leading Talent of Higher Vocational Education in Guangdong Province, four teachers rated as Leading Talent or High-level Professional Talent in Shenzhen, one Young Pearl River Scholar, and two provincial teaching teams. The School houses the Research Center for Innovation and Development of Modern Industries and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, a decision-making consulting research base in Guangdong Province. In the past five years, the School has established three national high-quality courses and two national high-quality resource-sharing courses, and has published 28 books, over 50 textbooks, and over 300 academic papers. The School has undertaken over 100 longitudinal scientific research and teaching research projects (including three projects supported by the National Social Science Fund and more than 30 projects at the provincial or ministerial level), and completed over 140 horizontal cooperation and social service projects with a total value of over RMB 30 million.
There are training facilities for modern logistics (port and shipping) simulation, marketing presentation, enterprise management simulation, experiential teaching, e-commerce in tourism, hotel catering, etc. There is also the i-Lab training center based on the innovation and entrepreneurship platform. The total area of these training workshops reaches 2,167 m2, with RMB 18.65 million worth of software and hardware equipment. The School has signed strategic cooperation agreements with China Merchants Port, IHG Hotels & Resorts, SF Express, Meituan, Rainbow, Starbucks, Maersk, Shenzhen Airlines, and other well-known enterprises. The school-enterprise cooperation with unique characteristics has gradually spawned brands such as the "Belle Store Manager" class and the "InterContinental Elite" class. The "China Merchants Port International College-Shenzhen Polytechnic University Haisi Campus", "Shenzhen Polytechnic University Meituan Digital Life College", "Dapeng New District Community Tourism College", and other characteristic colleges have all developed their own style.
The School is vigorously developing cross-border exchanges and cooperation. In 2009, it launched a talent exchange and training program with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, China. In 2011, it cooperated with City University of Seattle in the international logistics "3 + 0" project, and among the graduates, 60 went to City University of Seattle for further study, 12 were admitted to City University of Seattle for a master's degree, and one student was admitted to City University of Macau for a master's degree. In 2014, the School reached a preliminary cooperation agreement with JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä, Finland. In 2015, it signed a cooperation agreement with Université du Vin in France. In 2019, it signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Plymouth in the UK.
